O-Z/Gedney™ Class 531 vibration switches are safety devices designed for protecting rotating machinery, such as motors, generators, engines, pumps and fans from abnormal levels of vibration. If the vibration level of the machinery becomes excessive, the switch will trip, shutting down the machinery being protected. The switch operates on the principle of magnetic air gap, an increased air gap for low vibration and decreased air gap for high vibration levels. The sensitivity (air gap) can be adjusted by means of an adjustment knob and lock nut on the outside of the enclosure.
